NTBG offers free ‘Coco’ screening
KALAHEO — National Tropical Botanical Garden invites everyone to a free special screening of “Coco,” Pixar’s animated and colorful tribute to family, at “Movie Nights at the Garden” on Saturday.
“Our June Movie Night was a fun and successful event,” said Tobias Koehler, director of the South Shore Gardens. “The movies are a great way for us to connect with the community and our visitors, and to partner with local businesses while showcasing our gardens and sharing our mission of perpetuating the survival of the plants, ecosystems and cultures of this tropical region.”
The free screening will take place on the meadow at the South Shore Visitor’s Center at 4425 Lawai Road in Poipu, across from Spouting Horn. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the movie will start shortly after sunset.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or low beach chairs for seating.
Food and drinks from several local food trucks will be available for purchase.
Keiki activities including face painting by Ashly Trask and COGS from KCC “Cognition Learning Center” will also take place before the movie.
“The ‘Coco’ movie night is a free event, but donations are gladly accepted and will help fund research, conservation and public education programs at NTBG,” Koehler said.
