Emalani Festival on Saturday

The 30th annual Emalani Festival Kauai, Eo e Emalani i Alakai, is set for Saturday at the Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow in Kokee State Park.

Sharalyn Kahealani Bucasas will portray Queen Emma. The Queen’s Court includes Lady-in-Waiting is Shannon Nohealani Bucasas; Kaluahi, the Queen’s guide is Norman Ho‘okano; and Kumu Hololio is Kauhi Agoun. Roselle Keli‘ihonipua Bailey is mistress of ceremonies.

The festival celebrates Queen Emma’s journey to the Kokee uplands and Kilohana vista in 1871.

At 11 a.m., the Queen will ride into the meadow.

Carpooling is recommended.
