LIHUE — The Kauai County Committee on the Status of Women in August met the new executive director, Khara Jabola-Carolus, from the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women.
Jabola-Carolus visited Kauai on Aug. 15 to share her vision and ideas for the upcoming year and to meet each member of the KCCSW, as well as some of the committee’s community partners.
“We do need to gather and meet face to face to effectively collaborate with our members, community partners and HSCSW,” said KCCSW Chair Patricia Wistinghausen.
“This is just the start of an important conversation to advocate for women and girls. Meeting our executive director and aiming our goals together will only strengthen our voices.”
Jabola-Carolus has a law degree from the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from New York University.
The KCCSW is part of the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women, which strives to advance the status of women and girls by acting as a catalyst for positive change through advocacy, education, collaboration and program development.
