Stewart Vine “Stu” Burley, 83, of Lawai, passed away at home on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on Feb. 26, 1935, in Binghamton, New York, and retired from the U.S. Navy Pacific Missile Range Facility after 47 years of service.
He was preceded in death by wife of 52 years, Ku’uipo Gail Kaiwa Burley, parents Dexter Vine Burley and Margaret Robbins Stewart Burley, brother Richard A. Burley of Phoenix, and in-laws Edward Baba and Ida Kaiwa of Kekaha.
He is survivied by children Skipper (Tasy) Burley, Sperry (Renee) Burley and Surreyann (Kele) Alaibilla, grandchildren Seneca, Sera and Shelbie Burley, Sydnie, Steeler and Syren Burley and Ryan and Taylor Robbins Parongao, great-grandchildren Slader and Sailen Burley, Skyleigh Gonsalves, Ryder K. Parongao and Cash Burley Daly.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kalaheo Ward (Kaumualii Highway) on Saturday, Sept. 29, with visitation at 9 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe immediately following the services.
The family suggests aloha attire.

Juanita Carmen Callejo, 84, of Eleele, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Sept. 7, 2018. She was born in Waimea on June 26, 1934, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by daughter Elsie Jean Callejo, parents Manuel and Tomasa Esdicul, and siblings Benita Cezar, Leocadio Esdicul, Bertha Kihei, Vicky Moribe and Julian Esdicul.
She is survived by husband Benjamin Frank Callejo Sr., daughters Patricia (Walter) Shaffer, Traci Callejo Planas, Robbyn (Manuel) Silva and Jennifer Callejo, sons Michael (Clarice) Callejo, Benjamin Frank Callejo Jr., Alan Callejo and Manuel (Imelda) Callejo, 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister Fely (Francis) Oniate, brothers Marcellino (Ruthie) Esdicul and Lucas Esdicul, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Sacred Hearts Church in Eleele, with viewing from 8:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Miyako ‘Betty’ Yama
Miyako “Betty” Yama, 96, of Kapaa, passed away at Hale Kapuna Heritage Home on Aug. 30, 2018. She was born in Honolulu on May 22, 1922 and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Suyeto Yama and brothers Shigeru Wakayama, Tadao Wakayama, Ernest Wakayama and Stanley Wakayama.
She is survived by children Rodney (Patricia) Yama, Dwight (Judy) Yama, Valerie (David) Lee and Winston (Julia) Yama, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brother, Jack (Florence) Wakayama of California, sisters Kate Watase of Oahu, Grace (Kenji) Munechika of Oahu and Irene (Jerry) Matsuda of Washington, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services and inurnment will be held at a later date. the family requests no koden (monetary gifts) or flowers.

Martina Galla
Martina Galla, 86, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Jan. 3, 2018, at St. Rose Dominican Hospital Siena Campus.
Born on Dec. 20, 1931 in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired housekeeper with Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by husband Guillermo Galla.
She is survived by daughter Elisa (Dominick) Galla-Ferrer of Nevada, grandchildren Joshua and Jordan Ferrer, and great-grandchildren Deegan and Kai Ferrer.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire.
