William ‘Chad’ Charles Schimmelfennig


William “Chad” Charles Schimmelfennig, 69, of Lawai, passed away on Sept. 9, 2018, at Queen’s Medical Center.

Born on Dec. 5, 1948 in Honolulu, he was retired from the Kauai Fire Department Hanapepe station.

He was preceded in death by daughter Valerie Inman and brother Herman Schimmelfennig.

He is survived by wife Jane Schimmelfennig, sons Chadley Schimmelfennig and Wyley Schimmelfennig, daughters Melissa Bukoski and Mona Schimmelfennig, seven grandchildren, mother Cecelia “Mona” Lum, sisters Mona (Phil) Chapoulie, Harriet (Pat) Silva, Pearl Brandt and Melanie (Carlos) Palacio, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary chapel in Koloa from 9 to 10:45 a.m. where services will be at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow after the burial at 2:30 p.m. at Prince Kuhio Park in Poipu.

The family suggests casual attire.

Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
