Bill would allow VA to prescribe medical marijuana to veterans
WASHINGTON — U.S. Senators Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) introduced legislation last week to allow doctors at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to prescribe medical marijuana to veterans in the 31 states that have established medical marijuana programs, including Hawaii.

This should be interesting, the VA to prescribe MJ to vets….1st steps to legalization? Better see if Brian and Bill are “silent partners” in any of the dispensary’s.
People suffering from PTSD, many of whom are veterans, make up the second largest group of medical marijuana patients in Hawaii. Many veterans are unable to use medical marijuana because the Veterans Administration is prohibited from even discussing medical marijuana with them. I hope that Senator Schatz’s bill makes it through Congress and is signed into law because we have too many vets that are suffering as a result of an old misguided policy at the VA.
