Mea Ho’omana’o recipient
The Kauai Chamber of Commerce is looking for people who have demonstrated the real meaning of Mea Ho’omana’o,
“A dream of late Kauai Mayor Brian Baptiste was to remind residents of the importance of respect, civility and aloha in their interactions,” said a chamber flier. “The Mea Ho’omana’o program, which Baptiste started, is the fulfillment of that dream. The term refers to something that causes you to remember.”
Recent winners were Richard Waalani, Marynel Valenzuela and Lyle Tabata.
Deadline to submit nominations is Aug. 31. Please tell the chamber about the person you are nominating and why they should be named the next Mea Ho’omana’o Recipient for 2018.
Winners will be honored at the third quarter membership meeting on Sept. 18, at the Smith’s Family Gardens Lu’au.
