Toshio ‘Joe’ Teshima
Toshio “Joe” Teshima, 97, of Eleele, passed away on July 26, 2018, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Born on Nov. 21, 1920 in Hawaii, he retired from the purchasing department of McBryde Sugar Company, Ltd.
He was preceded in death by parents Konn Suke and Sadano Teshima, brothers Kiyoshi and Hideo Teshima and sister Hisako Sakata.
He is survived by wife Marian Teshima of Eleele, daughters Kathleen (Alvin) Fujii of Washington and Lynette (Timothy) Floyd of California, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother Masaki Teshima of Idaho, sister Michie Sasaki of Lihue, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Hanapepe United Church of Christ from noon, with services at 12:30 p.m. Inurnment will follow.
The family suggests casual attire.

Florence B. Kajiwara
Florence B. Kajiwara, 98, of Waimea, passed away on Aug. 2, 2018, at her home in Waimea.
Born on Feb. 19, 1920 in Waimea, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by son Kenneth Blackstad, daughters Paulette Akana and Siebel Sheldon-Kubo, six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, brother Robert Blackstad, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kekaha Ward from 9 to 10:45 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
