LIHUE — Help document global sea-level rise on Saturday with the King Tides Citizen Science Training in Hanapepe and in Hanalei, where people can get involved in the ongoing photo project.
The trainings will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hanapepe Public Library and from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Hale Halawai-Hale Pohai in Hanalei.
“This is an excellent opportunity to get involved with your environment,” said Ruby Pap, coastal land use extension agent with the University of Hawaii Sea Grant College Program.
The training is hosted by Hawaii Sea Grant, Hanalei Watershed Hui and Hanapepe-Eleele Community Association. With global sea-level rise, today’s King Tides are tomorrow’s water levels, according to scientists.
