HONOLULU — The Department of Taxation announced dates for its 2018 Tax Workshop to be held across the state this month.
On Kauai, the workshop is set for 8:30 to 11:30 a.m, Friday at Kauai Community College, OCET Room, 106,
Register at kauai.hawaii.edu. There is a fee.
The Tax Workshop allows tax professionals to learn more about the Department and provides Certified Public Accountants an opportunity to earn to earn three Hawaii Board of Public Accountancy Continuing Professional Education credits.
This year’s Tax Workshop topics include: an update on administrative rules, tax changes that occurred during the 2018 legislative session, and a special presentation on Conformity 2018: Hawaii’s Response to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and Other Federal Law Changes, and a guest presentation by the Internal Revenue Service’s Local Taxpayer Advocate on their services.
“Governor Ige directed the Department to increase its presence within the tax community,” said Linda Chu Takayama, Director of Taxation. “For the first time, the Department has teamed up with the IRS Advocate to bring additional value to our workshop attendees.”
