POIPU — RumFire Poipu Beach, located oceanfront at Sheraton Kauai Resort, has selected the Kauai Historical Society as its Table 53 beneficiary for July. Throughout each month, all net food and beverage proceeds from Table 53 are donated to local nonprofit organizations. The Table 53 initiative has raised more than $215,000 toward charitable causes since its inception in 2012.

Founded on May 7, 1914, by a group of individuals dedicated to collecting and preserving “matter relative to the history of Kauai,” the Kauai Historical Society is a nonprofit supported by its members and donors.
Two words that best describes the essence of the Kauai Historical Society are: “Malama” (to care for) the history of Kauai and Niihau that defines the heart of the organization’s mission; and “Membership,” the collective heartbeat that fuels the organization’s work.
