POIPU — The National Tropical Botanical Garden will feature “Lilo & Stitch” at its first Movie Night at the Gardens tonight. In this Disney animated film, a Hawaiian girl adopts an unusual pet who is actually a notorious extra-terrestrial fugitive bent on wreaking havoc across her island.
The film will be shown on the meadow at the South Shore Visitors Center at 4425 Lawai Road in Poipu, across from Spouting Horn Park. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start shortly after sunset. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or low beach chairs for seating.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
“We love inviting the Kauai community and island visitors to enjoy Movie Nights at the Gardens,” said Tobias Koehler, director of the South Shore gardens.
The garden is asking for a suggested donation of $5 for keiki and $10 for adults, which will help fund research, conservation and public education programs at NTBG.
