Earl L. Lanning Sr.
Earl L. Lanning Sr., 80, of Anahola, passed away on April 26, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on June 7, 1937, in Hawaii, he was a fisherman.
He was preceded in death by parents Carl and Carrie Lanning Sr., wife Lynette Lanning, sisters Cherie Lanning Mendes, Lorraine Lanning, Abigail Swain Kobayashi and Beatrice Swain, and brothers Titus Swain, Carl Lanning Jr., Theodore Lanning and Errol Lanning.
He is survived by sons Earl (Jolene) Lanning Jr., Pono (Tammy) Lanning Sr., Archie Lanning and Moku Lanning, daughters Earlyn (Kimo) Tin, Earlet (Kimo) Lanning and Earline “Pua” (Alani) Lanning, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters Collette Lanning Tovi, Carrie Lanning Carvalho, Leslie Lanning and Valorry Lanning, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 12, at 3852 Makaio Road in Anahola from 11 a.m., with services to follow at 1:30 p.m. A paina will follow. The family suggests aloha attire.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Yolanda ‘Linda’ Rivera
Yolanda “Linda” Rivera, 76, of Kilauea, passed away April 27, 2018, at Straub Hospital, of complications of the heart.
She was born on Kauai on Feb. 7, 1942, and retired as housekeeping manager at the St. Regis Resort.
She is survived by sons Ben Casey (Liz) Rivera, Demetri (Kristine) Rivera and Billy Joe Rivera, all of Kauai, daughter Giselle “Gigi” (Larry) Rivera of Oregon, sister Marina (Tom) Weston of Oklahoma, brother Andre (Andrea) Lopez of Oahu, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life in her memory will be held at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center on May 18, from 2 to 7 p.m.
John Jerome Pico
John Jerome Pico, 71, of Kapaa, passed away on April 21, 2018 at Garden Island Healthcare Center with his family by his side.
He was born Aug. 31, 1946, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Thomas and Concetta (Ditty) Pico. He is survived by wife Marie P. Pico, son Christopher J. Pico, daughter Christina-Maile C. Pico, brother Gerald (Sue Allen) Pico, sister Monique Pico, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 12, at Hanalei Pavilion Beach Park. Feel free to give respects at 9:30 a.m. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m., and he will be paddled out at 11:30 a.m. Aloha attire, moustaches and lei are welcome.
