Jane Riley a treasure of health
Over three years ago, after reading regularly The Garden Isle daily when staying in Kauai, I was so impressed with your columnist Jane Riley that I hired her to help me up my fitness and health game. She came to the home we were renting and what a lovely time we had.
She really knows her stuff. During our extended stay, we ran into her and her husband at a lecture and I stayed in touch with her after we came back to the mainland.
I read, with great sadness about Jane leaving the column due to personal situations. Jane has touched so many hearts and she is a treasure. We send nothing but aloha to her and her family as she goes through challenges and if there is anything we, her many fans, can do, for her, please do ask.
Thank you for all you do and The Garden Isle, thank you for running her columns these five years.

Beach bacteria to be expected
Bacteria on the beaches? Gee what a surprise. What do you expect, after heavy rains and over 5,000 cesspools?
When is this state going to wake up? When Hawaii is declared a toxic waste dump?

So who is this anonymous “Just Saying”? Hiding behind a silly moniker while making a ridiculous accusation and spreading false information about “every school teacher being accused of being communist” in yesterday’s comment section? A totally false statement and ridiculous on it’s face. An obvious spin and weave tactic by an “anonymous” angry, liberal dolt who hasn’t the courage to use “it’s” real name.
Just Saying said yesterday, that Gordon Oswald saying every teacher today is a left wing propagandist is the equivalent of a John Bircher saying in 1964 that every teacher is a communist. There, I came closer to putting it in 5th grade level language like his loathsome temporary president. Maybe he’ll figure it out!
As for the name. I put everything in my name on TGI for 20 years until recently when I started getting stalked by an extreme right winger from SoCal. Friend of yours Gordon? Until now, this put an end to that. Doesn’t take much where simpletons are involved. Everyone but Gordon knows who this is!
