Campbell High School, the Hawaii High School Athletic Association defending Division I team, and Mililani High School, the Division I runner up team, will be among the field when the 2018 Waimea High School Softball Invitational Tournament starts Thursday at the Hanapepe Stadium complex.
Campbell High School, the Hawaii High School Athletic Association defending Division I team, and Mililani High School, the Division I runner up team, will be among the field when the 2018 Waimea High School Softball Invitational Tournament starts Thursday at the Hanapepe Stadium complex.
The Sabers open against the hosting Waimea High School on Thursday in a 2:30 p.m. match during pool play for the Blue Pool. The Menehune will also face Kalani in its second game starting at 4:15 p.m.
Campbell and Mililani high schools’ teams are part of the 12-team field, including the three Kauai Interscholastic Federation teams — Waimea, Kauai and Kapaa — who play in three pools, the Blue, Green and Red. Other teams in the tournament include Kalaheo and Kalani in the Blue Pool.
Kapaa is joined by Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii, Farrington and Mililani high schools in the green pool.
Kapaa will open against Farrington at 2:30 p.m. followed by meeting Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii at 4:15 p.m.
Kauai is pitted against Pac-Five, Pearl City and Waialua in the Red pool.
The Red Raiders open against Pearl City starting at 2:30 p.m. followed by its meeting against Pac-Five at 4:15 p.m.
Pool play continues through Friday afternoon. Saturday starts the elimination round with the championship game at 3 p.m. Games on Friday start at 11 a.m. with the last game at 4:15 p.m. Saturday play starts at 9 a.m. with the final championship game at 3 p.m.
