All EKK events will take place at the Kauai Beach Resort in the Jasmine Ballroom.
On the regular Monday-night sessions, the nonprofit Garden Island Arts Council that hosts the program accepts suggested $10 donations in the calabash, but nobody is turned away.
To open the 35th season, uncle George Kahumoku Jr. and friends will offer a series of workshops on Sunday. E Kanikapila Kakou, translated literally, means “Let’s play a stringed instrument together,” and that’s exactly what this workshop will be about.
There’s an $85 fee for five workshops from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., which include lunch. Instrument and hula lessons are included in the fee.
On Monday, the guest presenters will include Kahumoku, Sterling Seaton, Max Angel and Nancy Kahumoku. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with breakout group instrument and hula lessons, so bring your own instrument if you’d like.
Musicians take to the stage from 7 to 9 p.m.
