Holly Taguma and Tori Tanaka get popcorn loaded onto their serving tray Saturday night during the free movie at Kalena Park on Rice Street in Lihu.

What a flurry of activity taking place during the weekend leading to Christmas, as kudos go out to Kmart manager Anthony Florick and Kauai Police Department Chief Darryl Perry, who hosted the annual Shop With A Cop (nice to see Gini Kapali out and about, and mahalo, Bobby Thompson for that cell phone thingie).

Perry was joined by his wife Solette Saturday when they helped Luis Soltren with his Christmas Party (Rosie Carrillo may have retired from the Children’s Justice Center, but can’t get away from coordinating parties for the children in need).

Ferdinand Dosono had his Kauai Kim Chee shirt on Saturday, and wasn’t that a new Uncle D’s shirt floating around the Kauai Community Market (Melissa McFerrin-Warrack was MIA because of the Christmas Spectacular going on at the mall), and where was Elvrine Chow with her kadomatsu?

Kudos to Lee Steinmetz (Bev Brody is having a white Christmas in Canada), Larry Feinstein, Lori Koga (that popcorn sure smelled ono!), and all those Muppet helpers on a great movie (love the big screen!) at Kalena Park.

Merry Christmas, Kauai!
