HAENA — Firefighters extinguished a structure fire that broke out in Haena Sunday evening.
Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at 8:50 p.m. on Kuhio Highway, where the fire threatened a small cottage and storage room.
The fire was brought under control around 9:30 p.m. and fully extinguished shortly after 10 p.m. No one was home at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported.
Damages to the structure and its contents are estimated to be roughly $15,000. The American Red Cross was called to assist the occupant of the structure.
An investigation continues.
Only needed one firetruck. Are these arsons? Not likely explosions or candles left near the window drapes.
