Kauai High School students stop for a photo with the Saito-Brown family last week. The family visited to thank them for their letters regarding Keanu Saito, a family member who passed away in August. The students wrote with mechanical pencils as a symbol. Just like the pencils that need to be filled with lead, our lives need to be filled, too. The family said to the students that they’re not alone and urged them to stay positive, even in loss.
