HONOLULU — Waimea High School cheer squad finished third Saturday at the Zippy’s Hawaii High School Athletic Association Cheerleading state championships on Oahu.
HONOLULU — Waimea High School cheer squad finished third Saturday at the Zippy’s Hawaii High School Athletic Association Cheerleading state championships on Oahu.
Led by coach Roxanne Cardejon, the Menehune squad finished with 472.00 points in the Medium Division. The division was topped by Sacred Hearts pepsters who finished with 503.50 points and Kaiser High School who ended at 487.25 points.
The Large Division was taken by Mililani High School which ended with 499.50 points over Iolani High School (484.25 points), Baldwin High School of the Maui Interscholastic League (461.50 points), and Maui High School which ended with 344.00 points.
Other schools in the Medium Division included Aiea (467.00 points), Punahou (463.75 points), Moanalua (462.25 points), Farrington (450.75 points), Pearl City (442.00 points), Waiakea (434.00 points), Kapolei (419.50 points), Kalani (405.75 points), Kailua (405.75 points), McKinley (398.00 points), Kamehameha-Hawaii (348.50 points), and Kealakehe (345.50 points).
Waimea team members include Anna Broyles, the newly-crowned Miss Kauai Veteran, Kalsie Camelo, Ashlyn Agena, Kaira Kelekomo, Jacelyn Ragragola, Zyana Vea, Meagan Soares and Cailin Pasion.
