LIHUE — This year’s Kauai representative in the state football playoffs will open the tournament at home.
Kauai High School, winner of the Kauai Interscholastic Federation championship, will host a Division I semifinal game at Vidinha Stadium, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Nov. 4. The early brackets were released by the Hawaii High School Athletic Association on Monday.
The Red Raiders (5-3, 4-2 KIF) are seeded No. 2 will play a school from the Interscholastic League of Honolulu. The opponent is to be determined.
This year will be the debut of the KIF in Division I. The tournament formats were revised to a three-tier, four-team format in July.
Division I tournament No. 1 seed Hilo, of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation, will host Maui, of the Maui Interscholastic League, in the semifinals at 7 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Francis Wong Stadium in Hilo.
The Division I championship game is scheduled for Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. at Aloha Stadium.
