WAILUA — A couple of hole-in-ones were recently made at Wailua Golf Course.
On Sept. 30, Rep. Dee Morikawa shot an ace on the course’s 14th hole, hitting the ball 148 yards into the cup using a Mizuno 5-hybrid. Ken Morikawa, Jim Lindberg and Eddie Chinen witnessed the feat.
Morikawa made the hole-in-one during the Kauai Senior Tournament. It was her second in 38 years of golfing.
On Oct. 7, Nick Solarte of Lihue hit a hole-in-one on Wailua’s 17th hole. Solarte hit the ball 175 yards with a Mizuno 5-iron during the Kauai Fil-Am Golf Tournament. It was his first ace in 10 years of golfing.
