Human rights honor goes to Egyptian banned from travel

Mohamed Zaree, human rights advocate and legal scholar, poses for a photograph during an interview with The Associated Press in Cairo, Egypt, Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017. Ten of the world’s leading human rights organizations have selected Zaree for the prestigious Martin Ennals award, given in recognition of outstanding work at great personal risk. But Zaree could not attend the ceremony in Geneva because the Egyptian government has accused him of harming national security and has placed him on a no-fly list. (AP Photo/Nariman El-Mofty)
