Kauai Chorale starts rehearsals

PUHI — Kauai Chorale has started rehearsals for its December concerts.

The vocal group meets 7:30 p.m. Mondays at Island School.

All are welcome to join Kauai Chorale but must be committed to attending weekly rehearsals.

Those interested should arrive at 7 to register and pick up music. Bring your own copies of “Messiah” if you have them.

Concert dates are:

• Sunday, Dec. 10, 5 p.m., St. Regis Grand Ballroom

• Friday, Dec. 15, 7:30 p.m., Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall

Director Lois Ricciardi said the group will perform sections of some major works it has enjoyed singing over the years, including Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” choruses from the Christmas portion of Handel’s “Messiah,” and Z. Randall Stroope’s “Hodie.”

She also plans to add some traditional Christmas songs.

Guest performers will be the Immaculate Conception Church Children’s Choir.
