Happy Camper for Sunday, September 3, 2017

Ron Agor has a new place to watch TV — congratulations to Maris Manzano, Jessica Kerber and Executive Chef Kristin Yanagawa on the opening of Verde Lihue in the Hokulei Shopping Village (Orly’s patisserie is signed to be next door, and there is a Domino’s sign across the way!).

Down the way at the Kukui Grove Marketplace, Christine Camara of Great Harvest Bread Co. Lihue and her family are challenging people to have breakfast during the September observance of Better Breakfast Month and the company’s #BetterBreakfast campaign. Jacob Camara said a “better breakfast” includes a breakfast sandwich (made from bread or biscuit, bacon or ham, any cheese, tomato and garlic herb spread) with a money-back guarantee if they don’t agree that it is the best-tasting, healthiest breakfast. Customers who post photos of their Great Harvest experience on social media with the #BetterBreakfast hashtag have an opportunity to win one of five $100 gift cards good at any Great Harvest Bread location in the country.

Meanwhile, Art Umezu made sure the Iwaki Sunshine Marathon winners had “marathon food” at the Tip Top Cafe where Lenny Rapozo (three on three basketball is on tap for the Rice Street celebration on Sept. 23) was enjoying lunch with Laurie Kelekoma.
