Congratulations to Kamaka Fernandez on his two great new neighbors, Al and Thomasyna Bungula and ohana and Kaleo and Jackie Lopez and ohana! Kudos to the Stephen Spears (Milani Pimental does a great job hostessing home blessings, and Kahu Wayne Vidinha of Ke Akua Mana Church knows how to work with keiki) and the Kauai Habitat for Humanity crew (welcome to Kauai, Nikita Wilson, the newest Americorps worker!) on getting two more deserving families into houses they will turn into homes.
Emily Latimer, U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s director of communications, got an inside track on these types of things because Kaulana Finn does a great job getting out there (remember Dennis Brown of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters visiting one of our Wounded Warriors?). Emily got to enjoy the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair for the first time Thursday, and mahalo to Carrice Gardner for making sure Gov. David Ige (“going get drama if no can catch oama!”) was having fun at the fair Saturday. Kudos to Tamra Martin of Green Opihi on doing such a good job balancing teaching and handling the crowds at the fair!
OK, so what’s next?
