KAPAA — The Kapaa Bypass Road was temporarily closed early Wednesday following an injury crash.
The collision occurred about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when a northbound Chevy sedan crossed the center line, crashed into the guardrail along the southbound lane and came to a stop in the middle of the roadway.
Seconds later, a northbound Ford pickup truck was unable to stop and collided head-on into the sedan.
Firefighters extricated the 26-year-old female sedan driver. She sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Wilcox Hospital.
The male driver of the pickup truck, 27, was not hurt.
Police suspect alcohol is a contributing factor and the incident remains under investigation.
