LIHUE — The General Plan will keep land in Princeville zoned as resort.
On Tuesday, the Planning Commission voted against the plan’s attempt to take away the resort designation, which it currently has.
That means development can happen on the land.
In earlier drafts of the General Plan, which was last updated in 2000, the Planning Department recommended removing the resort land use designation from the Princeville plateau, which is the area above Anini, surrounding the Prince club house.
But the most recent draft and its maps, restore Princevilleʻs Phase II resort land use designation.
Also on Tuesday, Planning Commissioners voted to defer taking action on the General Plan.
