Waimea names outstanding athletes

Waimea High School Athletic Department announced its outstanding student athletes, acknowledged for their individual performances in the classroom and in the athletic arena.

The Menehune athletic department recognizes and congratulates BreeAnn Cayaban for winning the 2016-2017 Positive Coaching Alliance Triple Impact Scholarship, announced Lois Keamoai of the Waimea athletic department.

Cayaban also was a 2016 National Wendy’s High School Heisman state winner as well as the recipient of the Bunji Shimomura Scholarship for $500.

Robyn Acob was named the Menehune Outstanding Female Athlete as well as the Outstanding Female Scholar Athlete.

Cody Taniguchi was deemed the Outstanding Male Athlete for the Menehune, and Waika Corr earned the Outstanding Male Scholar Athlete award.

Kaleohano Castaneda was named the Army Male Scholar Athlete and Pualilia Kahale earned the Army Female Scholar Athlete award.

Caleb Ephan was named the recipient to the $500 Richard M. Doi scholarship.
