PUHI — Puhi Metals Recycling Center vendor will begin charging commercial haulers for metals and large eWaste recyclables on Monday.
The new fees will allow Resource Recovery Solutions to maintain its operations on Kauai, according to a press release.
Residential recycling remains free of charge.
“We would like to thank all of our customers for their years of support that have kept millions of pounds of valuable resources out of the Kekaha Landfill,” said Ryan Evans, Resource Recovery Solutions manager. “Unfortunately, we are on an island in the middle of the Pacific, and while our costs have risen, metals and other commodity prices have not.”
The new fee schedule is posted at the PMRC and at www.kauai.gov/metalrecycling.
