PUHI — A free fashion boot camp will open the 2017 Kauai Fashion Weekend from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Kauai Community College Office of Continuing Education and Training, Room 106.
“Every one interested in fashion — make up, modeling, photography, and more — is invited to this free event,” said Sha Ali Ahmad, international designer of Ahmad Couture. “We will be training the models on walking the cat walk for this year’s KFW event on June 3, and anyone can learn from this.”
Ahmad will be joined by Natasha Kertes, a fashion photographer from Florida who will be available in a meet-and-greet format, offering insight into photography and fashion.
Tips on makeup and hair will be provided.
“This is a great opportunity for people looking for a window into fashion,” said Edie Ignacio Neumiller, a KFW organizer. “During last year’s Kauai Fashion Weekend, we met a high school student who had no experience in modeling, or fashion. She was trained by Ahmad and went on to get the cover of a prestigious fashion magazine along with a 10-page spread — all of this with no experience.”
