“Fill the Night with Music”

Kauai’s community chorus, Kauai Chorale, will be performing another great show, “Fill the Night with Music,” at the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center on May 13 at 7:30 p.m. and a second performance at the St. Regis Grand Ballroom on Mother’s Day, May 14, at 5 p.m. Bring mom to a concert she will be sure to enjoy. Box office will open 30 minutes prior to concert time.

Conducted by Lois Ricciardi and accompanied by Virginia Shepherd, Kauai Chorale will perform a variety of fun and reflective music including the timeless “Almost Like Being in Love,” arranged by Ruth Elaine Schram and written by Frederick Loewe and Alan Jay Lerner, a traditional South African folk song about gaining strength from our ancestors, “Babethandaza,” arranged by Daniel Hughes, Andy Beck’s “Give Me a Choral Medley!” and “Java Jive” by Milton Drake and Ben Oakland and arranged by Kirby Shaw. There is much more in store including “We Rise Again” by Leon Dubinsky and arranged by Stephen Smith and Scott Macmillan.

Guest artists for the evening will be Dan Spriggs on percussion and the Kauai Seventh Day Adventist Children’s Choir.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door for general admission. Students are $5. For tickets, contact any Kauai Chorale member, go to Kauaichorale.com for outlet information or call 822-5633 or 377-1882.
