PRINCEVILLE — Learn how to get involved with voluntary land conservation in Hawaii from Angela Anderson at the Princeville Public Library on May 10.
Anderson, Kauai director of the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust, will be providing information about how the organization works on Kauai and statewide.
She’ll also provide an overview of conservation easement transactions — including review of federal and state enabling statutes, characteristics of conservation easements and IRS guidelines regarding donations and appraisal requirements.
Her presentation will highlight how landowners, community groups and government entities can partner to conserve lands that secure Hawaii’s long-term well-being.
The event is free and is sponsored by the Friends of the North Shore Library at Princeville as part of the Dotty Nakea Memorial Speaker Program and by the Princeville Public Library. It’s scheduled 5 p.m. May 10.
