Woman arrested after drug pickup at post office
LIHUE — A Kauai woman was arrested Wednesday after she admitted to picking up a package of methamphetamine at Lihue post office.
Amanda Bremer is being detained on Oahu after a postal inspector obtained a search warrant for two suspicious packages that were delivered to the Lihue post office on April 18, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Honolulu.
Further investigation revealed one package contained 80 grams of heroin and the second had 240 grams of methamphetamine.
The next day, a controlled delivery was executed, and a woman later identified as Bremer picked up the parcel she believed contained methamphetamine. The package contained only a tracker, attorneys said.
Bremer was found at Kukui Grove Center, where she said she knew there was meth in the package.
She is scheduled to be in court on Oahu to decide whether she can be released. A preliminary hearing is set for May 3.
