• Ernest Camara
Ernest Camara of Kalaheo passed away at home on March 11, at the age of 91. He was born in Kauai on May 14, 1925, and retired from Amfac as the lumber yard foreman.
He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Camara, parents John and Mary Camara, and brothers August and Manuel Camara.
He is survived by four children, Sharon (Johnson) Villanida of Kalaheo, Anthony (Tracey) Camara of Hanapepe, Rinda (Richard) Banasihan of Kalaheo and Yvette (Mark) Scribner, 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, brother Richard (Betty) Camara of Wisconsin, sister Dorothy Lopes of Florida, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on March 22 at Holy Cross Church, with viewing from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
