Happy Camper for Friday, March 10, 2017

Sen. Ron Kouchi said Wednesday was a day Joy Kouchi had to take her dad on errands. Joy normally takes the social media photos of the Hawaii Senate president, but in her stead, Sen. Ron pressed Gov. David Ige to do the task during the blessing of the Tesla Powerpack plus SolarCity solar farm.

Shelby Erdmann, Berna Souza and Coach Kaina Makua remind people of the Waimea River silt removal cleanup days this weekend from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shelby said there will be shuttles running from the Waimea High School starting at 7:45 a.m. and running every 15 minutes until 3:15 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Mailah Moniz, 2, is Leighton Moniz’s No. 1 fan, said the Moniz ohana who filled up a good section of the Kapaa fans during the Wednesday night baseball game (Ross Kagawa said we should’ve done this a long time ago) at Vidinha Stadium.

Roy Nishida (Bryson Poai plays for Kapaa) might have been on Maui, but Kelvin Moniz was there, talking about this year being the 100th anniversary of Lionism in Hawaii.

OK, time to get ready and check out the Kauai District Science Fair (Manny Henriques missed the game Wednesday because he had to drop off his son, and Jean Souza said they’ll have a humpback whale display available for people to see).
