Happy Camper for Wednesday, March 1, 2017

Priscilla Badua said the power went out where they live, and her husband Ron brought out this tiny flashlight. That led to a lively discussion about light-emitting diode (LED) flashlights and who has the smallest ones during the Hawaii Government Employees Association rummage sale benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life (there’s still time to contribute, or form a team).

Becky Komaki is working on a new cookie (or is it a Chinese pretzel?) recipe, and if the timing was right, you could get hot malasada (and poi balls) that overflowed from the Waimea Town Celebration.

Teresa Caires and her Girl Scout “cookie captains” and “cookie rookies” from Troop 823 are into the Bling the Booth for their booth sales this year. The troop got help from Jayda Wakilina’s dad, Gerard Bucao, in creating the tropical look, and Ron Wiley even aired the special song the troop has to go along with the tropical look. They still have the S’mores, which are hot sellers next to the Thin Mints.
