Lihue man arrested for alleged sexual assault of a minor

LIHUE — Kauai police have arrested a Lihue man suspected of sexually assaulting a minor.

Michael J. Terui, 37, was indicted by the grand jury on Feb. 16 for two counts of sexual assault and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

Police located Terui at his home Wednesday morning.

He was booked at police headquarters and later released on $100,000 bail.

An investigation continues. Police have reason to believe there could be more victims involved in separate incidents.
