Kauai High boys open D2 state tourney versus No. 4 Honokaa

Kauai High School’s varsity boys basketball team is unseeded in the Snapple Boys Basketball Championships — Division II state tournament.

Seedings and schedules were released late Friday evening. Kauai High, which went an undefeated 8-0 en route to winning this year’s Kauai Interscholastic Federation title, will play No. 4 seed Honokaa of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation.

Tip-off between the Red Raiders and the Dragons is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday at Kalani High School in Honolulu.

Wednesday’s Division II opening round match-up are: No. 1 Saint Francis (ILH) vs. Farrington (OIA), 7 p.m. at Kalani High; No. 2 Seabury Hall (MIL) vs. Hawaii Prep (BIIF), 5 p.m. at Saint Francis School; No. 3 Kalani (OIA) vs. Le Jardin (ILH), 7 p.m. at Saint Francis School; No. 4 Honokaa (BIIF) vs. Kauai (KIF), 5 p.m. at Kalani High.
