Ruben Rodriguez said he has the same date as Johnny Laranio’s birthday, just different months.
Ruben’s birthday is Jan. 6 while Johnny celebrated his birthday Tuesday by cooking spaghetti for his friends at Lihi Park in Kapaa. Johnny said everyone wanted spaghetti Sunday, but he said he would cook it on his birthday. Happy birthday, Johnny!
Cheryl Perreira said her husband doesn’t watch the NFL Super Bowl so she coordinated a craft fair to help raise funds for Da Marys, an American Youth Soccer Organization under-12 girls team which is traveling to Oahu for a tournament during spring break.
Kinohi Naihe (she was also watching artist Wyland paint the wall in Waipouli) said she has to fundraise all the time as she gets ready to travel to Arkansas for a chance at the national title with 52 other contestants as Miss Hawaii Jr. High School America.
She got help from Blaze Batoon (he helps a lot of people, including with the Boy Scouts), who was cruising the craft fair with his mother and sister before watching the Super Bowl.
