Basketball coach Dennis Agena and the Kalakaua Basketball Clinic is returning to Kauai, March 21-23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bernice Hundley Gym located on the Kapaa High School campus.
Coinciding with the Department of Education spring break school schedule, the clinic is open to boys and girls in fifth- through twelfth-grades. It is encouraged that clinic participants have some basketball experience such as participation in the county’s youth league, which is currently being operated.
Participants are required to bring a basketball, basketball shoes and proper attire, including shorts and a T-shirt or tank top.
Co-sponsored by the Kauai Youth Basketball Association and the County of Kauai, the cost is $25. This includes a light lunch served on each of the clinic dates.
Early registration is highly recommended because this clinic tends to fill quickly, said Karen Matsumoto of the KYBA. During the last Kalakaua Basketball Clinic, more than 70 young people attended.
