Nominations sought for top senior citizens

LIHUE — The public is invited to submit nominations for the 2017 Outstanding Male and Female Older American awards.

The goal of the program is to pay tribute to adults 65 and older who have made exceptional contributions to their community through service and/or special projects.

Nomination forms are available at the Agency on Elderly Affairs, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The AEA is located at the Lihue Civic Center, Piikoi Building, Suite 330.

All nominees will be honored at an awards ceremony in May. The 2017 Outstanding Male and Female Older Americans will be announced at this event. Those selected will represent Kauai at a ceremony held on Oahu in June.

The deadline to submit a nomination is Feb. 28.
