K-pop icon group Big Bang says farewell for now, ending their 10-year run with the “0 To 10 Final in Seoul” concert last week at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. With an estimated 64,000 concert attendees, a fan said on his Facebook wall that this concert was the best he had seen in the last 10 years.
Of the five-member team, T.O.P. will enlist for the mandatory military service next month for 19 months.
Taeyang and G-Dragon are expected to enlist this year. Individual members will go solo until they can all regroup a few years later.
Big Bang had their MADE (V.I.P.) Tour here in Hawaii last year at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center.
They pioneered and proved that a large K-pop event can be successful in Hawaii.
There was much interest in past years from other K-pop groups but as Hawaii is a relatively small market, the risks of low ticket sales have kept them away.
Big Bang in Hawaii had made non K-pop fans into die-hard fans and it was truly a special event as they will be in hiatus due to individual military conscription duties as South Korean citizens.
The group really did go out with a bang!
