Churches around Kauai are planning special Christmas Eve services. They have prepared music, dramas, sermons and decorations for the expected increase in church attendance. Some will be meeting at bigger venues, such as the War Memorial Convention Hall and resorts.

w Lihue Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hawaii, 3 p.m., afternoon service of carols, scripture readings and communion; 7:30 p.m., family candlelight service; 9:30 p.m. Church Ohana Christmas potluck dinner; 11 p.m., Luther’s Christmas Mass of carols, candlelight and holy communion.

Sing along with the All Angels Choir accompanied by a brass quartet; 9:30 p.m., Festival Eucharist, candlelight service also features the All Angels Choir and the brass quartet.
