Author to lecture on World Peace Diet

LIHUE — Will Tuttle, author of the international bestseller, “The World Peace Diet,” and expert featured in documentaries such as “Cowspiracy” is coming to lecture on Kauai.

The award-winning author will be lecturing at the Vegetarian Society of Hawaii, Kauai Chapter’s holiday potluck dinner, which begins at 6 p.m. Monday.

A second event is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 21 at the Princeville Community Center. Bring a vegan dish for the potluck or a $10 donation.

“He talks about a plant based diet from an ecological perspective,” said Thomas Eisendrath, head of the Kauai Vegetarian Society of Hawaii.

The book looks at how the diet of humans is intertwined with their health, as well as the health of the environment.

“The most important part of Will Tuttle’s message is that each and every one of us can make a significant and positive impact on the world around us just by making truly conscious food choices,” said Allison Jacobson, one of the people involved in bringing Tuttle to Kauai.

The event will kick of a series of live speakers that Eisendrath is lining up for the next few monthly meetings of the Kauai Chapter of the Vegetarian Society of Hawaii.
