LIHUE — The Kauai Resource Center will be closed temporarily starting Dec. 14 as the county transitions to a new vendor and the permitting, contracting and mobilization processes for the new contract are completed.
An announcement will be made regarding KRC’s reopening, which is expected to take place by the beginning of the New Year.
Those wanting to redeem their HI5 beverage containers at a Lihue location can go to Reynold’s Recycling at the corner of Wilcox and Kanoa Road near Nawiliwili Harbor. The facility is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it is closed for lunch, from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
Residentially generated recyclables can be taken to the Kauai Recycles bins at the back parking lot of K-Mart.
