A high surf advisory is in effect for east-facing shores of most Hawaiian islands until 6 p.m. Thursday, according to a report from the National Weather Service.
Strong trade winds will maintain elevated surf for Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island. Surf is forecast to be 6 feet to 10 feet along those east-facing shores.
Impacts include strong breaking waves, shore break, and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.
Consult lifeguards or locals before entering the water.
