HANAMAULU— The victims of Saturday’s murder-suicide have been identified.
The 40-year-old woman has been identified as Janese Singh. The identity of the man has been confirmed to be Singh’s ex-husband, Juanito Singh, 67.
When patrol officers arrived to the apartment in Kalepa Village about 3:45 a.m., they found two people with gunshot wounds, according to a release from the Kauai Police Department.
Juanito Singh was presumed dead at the scene. Janese Singh was transported to Wilcox Medical Center, where she later died.
An autopsy performed Monday confirmed that Janese Singh died of multiple gunshot wounds and Juanito Singh died of a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The couple’s children are in the custody of Child Protective Services.
An investigation continues.
