MANOA — The University of Hawaii’s flagship campus has narrowed down its finalists for chancellor.
The Chancellor Search Advisory Committee identified two finalists, John V. White and Sonny Ramaswamy for the open chancellor position at UH Manoa. White and Ramaswamy will participate in a final round of interviews this month.
White is the acting-chancellor for the Nevada System of Higher Education. He previously served as executive vice president and provost of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and as the strategic adviser to the president of UNLV.
Ramaswamy was appointed by President Obama to serve as director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture . Prior to that, he was dean of Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences, the director of Purdue University’s Agricultural Research Programs, professor and head of Kansas State University’s Entomology Department.
