Benjamin Manuel
Benjamin Manuel, 76, of Lihue, Kauai passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2016, in New Braunfels, Texas. Born on Dec. 22, 1939, in Lihue, he graduated in 1957 from Kauai High School and joined the United States Air Force, Aug. 1957. In 1958, he married Teresita Apilado Manuel of Kilauea, Kauai, together they have two children, Rosalie and Benjamin Jr. He served in various leadership positions and duty locations, to include the Vietnam War Campaign, Benjamin served in the United States Air Force for 30 years. In 1987, he retired proudly as a Chief Master Sergeant, E-9 and returned to Lihue, Kauai and continued to work as a Security Guard at the Pacific Missile Range Facility in Kekaha for 10 years. The Manuel’s moved and lived in Denver, CO 1998-2015. The end of 2015, the Manuel’s moved to Texas.
Preceded in death by his late parents, Cipriano and Mariana Manuel of Lihue, Benjamin is survived by his loving wife, Teresita Apilado Manuel of 58 years, their daughter, Rosalie Manuel Worthy and their son, Benjamin Manuel, Jr. Their grandson, MSGT Jerry Roberts, Jr, his wife, Aliesha Roberts. Grand-daughter, Jessica Kilby, her husband, Patrick Kilby. Great-Granddaughter, Malaya Roberts. Benjamin is also survived by his sisters, Crescentia Manuel Badua, Leonora Manuel Longboy, and Priscilla Manuel Erickson, all residing in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held Nov. 8, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas 78209. Rehina Maghanoy Ancheta
Rehina Maghanoy Ancheta of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 17, 2016, at the age of 75. She was born in Lihue on May 25, 1942, and was a dedicated homemaker.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Fahselt; parents, Leoncio and Filomena Maghanoy; brothers, Augustin Maghanoy and Richard Maghanoy; sister, Eugenia Allianic and Eulalia Suguitan.
Rehina is survived by her husband, Juan “Jackie” Ancheta; two sons, Clayton (Donna) Ancheta and Gabriel “Gabe” Ancheta; one daughter, Teresa (Ralph) Worrell: 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Nalani, Bryson, Salena, Samantha, Nelson Jr.; 6 great-grandchildren, Daniel “Kaili”, Isaiah, Morgan, Tyler, Jonah, Caleb; brothers, Albert Maghanoy and Arthur Maghanoy; sisters-in-law, Mary Canoy, Dolly Helser, Rosita Fry; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. with Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Ancheta family with arrangements.
